Coordinator of the B.A. in Film and Audiovisual (Licenciatura em Cinema e Audiovisual) at FEBF-UERJ. Professor at UERJ (Rio de Janeiro State University), post-doc in Culture, Ph.D. in Education (UERJ), and graduated in Sociology (UFRJ - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro). Coordinator of the Center for Visual Studies in Urban Peripheries (Núcleo de Estudos Visuais em Periferias Urbanas - CNPq), and coordinator of the Technological Development Unit LABORAV-UERJ. She was a counselor for SOCINE (Brazilian Society of Film and Audiovisual Studies), and coordinated the Working Group on Post-Colonial and Peripheral Cinemas at AIM (International Association for Media and Communication Research) and SOCINE. She served as an evaluator for Cultura Viva (Ministry of Culture), a consultant for INEP (National Institute of Educational Studies and Research), and a researcher for UNESCO. She has worked in the peripheries of Latin America and Africa.
