Business Meetings Rules & Regulations 2026

Registration via Sympla.

October 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9

1. RioMarket will take place between October 1 and 10, 2026, with the Business Meetings scheduled for October 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM – Brasília Time (BRT).

2. The Business Meetings will be held at RioMarket’s main venue (Address: Orla Conde – Armazém 6, Cais do Porto, Rio de Janeiro).

3. Only legally established and registered corporate entities (legal entities) may register as participants in the Business Meetings.

4. Registration for the Business Meetings allows the participant to submit their project(s) to the selection process for meetings with players. Registration does not guarantee the selection of the project or the scheduling of a meeting, which is entirely subject to the choice and availability of the players.

5. Meetings will have a maximum duration of 20 minutes and will be scheduled in advance according to each player’s availability.

6. When a player participates remotely, the participant must be physically present in the Business Meetings rooms, where they will conduct the meeting via videoconference using computers provided by RioMarket. Online participation is exclusively reserved for the player.

7. With the exception of the computers provided for the remote meetings mentioned above, RioMarket will not provide equipment or materials to assist with presentations, except for standard power outlets. The participant is responsible for bringing any materials they wish to use, such as laptops, tablets, printed documents, etc.

8. Only participants who have paid the registration fee, completed the submission process, been selected by a player, and received the corresponding schedule will be allowed to attend the meetings. A maximum of 2 (two) representatives per company is permitted in each meeting.

9. The list of invited players, along with their profiles of interest, will be available on the Business Meetings page on the RioMarket website.

10. It is mandatory to complete the Project Form (Ficha de Projeto), stating the title of the work, format, genre, director, production company, project status, budget, synopsis, character profiles, episode descriptions (in the case of series/serialized works), treatment/argument (if applicable), and other requested information. It will not be possible to edit the form or submit supplementary material after submission.

10.1. Projects accepted for the Business Meetings may be in the following production stages: development, financing/fundraising, pre-production, production, post-production, finishing, distribution, or other;

10.2. Projects may be fiction or non-fiction;

10.3. Accepted formats include short films, medium-length films, feature films, series/serialized works, interprogram segments, variety shows, reality shows, game shows, talk shows, linear programming, and others;

10.4. Project genres may range from action, biography, crime, psychodrama, documentary, animation, sports, dramedy, fantasy, suspense, thriller, children/youth, adventure, comedy, mystery, romantic comedy, musical, docudrama, drama, family, science fiction, horror, romance, and others.

11. Registration will take place in two stages: (a) payment via the Sympla platform using the link available on the RioMarket website; and (b) completing the Project Form, provided via email after payment confirmation.

12. The Business Meetings offer two registration fee tiers: R$ 250.00 (two hundred and fifty Brazilian reais) for the submission of 1 (one) project, and R$ 400.00 (four hundred Brazilian reais) for the submission of up to 2 (two) projects. In the case of two projects, a separate form must be filled out for each.

12.1. Payment of the registration fee must be made exclusively through the Sympla platform.

12.2. The Sympla platform will add its service fee to the total purchase amount.

13. The order number generated upon completing the purchase on Sympla must be entered in the Project Form to validate participation in the selection process of the RioMarket 2026 Business Meetings.

13.1. The Project Form will be automatically sent by email after the purchase is completed on Sympla. The participant must also check their spam folder. If the email is not received, the participant must contact the Business Meetings team.

14. The order number generated after the Sympla purchase may only be reused in the following cases:

14.1. Partner institutions, supporters, and sponsors, as instructed by the production team;

14.2. Special offers and promotional packages, such as the 2 (two) project package.

15. Only the first Project Form submitted with a reused order number will be accepted, with all others being disregarded, except in the cases outlined in Item 14.

16. Order numbers will be verified with the Sympla platform. If the number entered in the Project Form does not correspond to a valid purchase, the registration will be disregarded.

17. There is no limit on the number of projects per participant. To register more than two projects, a new registration fee must be paid, and a new Project Form must be completed with the corresponding order number.

18. All information necessary for project evaluation must be included in the Project Form. No additional materials will be received for selection purposes. If the participant desires, supporting materials may be brought on the day of the meeting.

19. It is recommended that participants arrive at the Business Meetings venue well in advance of their first meeting time, both to complete accreditation and to account for any schedule adjustments or delays. Only after accreditation may participants proceed to the Business Meetings room and introduce themselves to the event staff.

20. All participants must pick up their badges/credentials at the RioMarket accreditation desk, located at the event venue, prior to attending their first meeting.

21. Credentials will be available starting October 1, 2026.

22. Project submissions will be accepted until 6:00 PM (Brasília Time) on September 15, 2026.

22.1. Registration is only validated after the Project Form is submitted.

22.2. The Project Form must be completed and submitted by the registration deadline.

23. Payments made without completing and submitting the Project Form do not validate the registration.

23.1. RioMarket and Festival do Rio will not issue refunds for Project Forms that are not completed or submitted by the registration deadline.

24. Registration is considered complete after receiving the automated confirmation email sent upon submission of the Project Form.

25. Incomplete registrations, forms with conflicting information, or applications that do not meet the requirements of these Regulations will not be accepted.

26. All registered projects will be forwarded to the players according to their respective profiles of interest. The selection of projects for scheduling meetings will be carried out exclusively by the players.

26.1. The participant acknowledges that their project may not be selected for any meeting, and no refund of the registration fee will be due.

27. Only after the confirmation of project selection by the players will an email be sent to the contact provided in the Project Form with the exact date and time of the meeting. The participant should also check their spam folder.

27.1. Meeting times will be determined exclusively by the organization based on player availability and the Business Meetings schedule. Requests to choose, alter, or reschedule meeting times at the participant’s request will not be permitted.

27.2. The morning session will run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

28. In case of participant tardiness, no extension of the meeting duration will be guaranteed, in order to respect the schedule of subsequent meetings. In case of inability to attend, the organization must be notified as far in advance as possible. Absence or tardiness on the part of the participant does not entitle them to rescheduling.

28.1. In case of delay, absence, or cancellation by the player, the organization will seek, whenever possible, to reschedule the meeting to another time according to the player’s availability and the overall schedule, with no guarantee of rescheduling or replacement.

28.2. For operational reasons, including delays, cancellations, or changes in player availability, the organization may adjust the schedules and timetables of the Business Meetings.

29. If the participant wishes to participate in a pitch to advertising agencies to present their project, they must check this option on the Project Form and describe the product placement strategies. The date and time of the activity will be communicated upon project selection.

30. If the participant wishes to participate in the project selection for meetings with international players, they must select this option on the Project Form and complete the following fields in English: Synopsis, Logline, Treatment/Argument, Character Profiles, Number and Duration of Episodes (in the case of series), Episode Descriptions (in the case of series), and Project Notes, as requested on the form.

31. RioMarket and Festival do Rio reserve the right to assign different badge categories to partners according to criteria defined by the organization.

32. Prices may vary depending on ticket batches, and discounts or promotions may be applied at the event organizers' discretion.

33. The Business Meetings team will contact all registered participants by [DATE TO BE DETERMINED]. Participants selected by the players will receive their respective meeting schedules by email, while participants whose projects were not selected will receive an email informing them of the selection results.

34. Official notices and updates regarding the Business Meetings will be available on the website, on social media, and/or sent by email.

34.1. It is the participant’s responsibility to monitor the email address provided during registration, including spam and junk folders, for selection notifications, schedules, and any potential changes.

35. Participation in the Business Meetings grants access to the RioMarket general program exclusively on the day on which the participant's meeting with the player takes place. To participate on the other days of the event, a specific ticket must be purchased.

36. By completing the registration, the participant states that they are aware of and agree to these Regulations and the rules of the RioMarket 2026 Business Meetings.
