Joel Zito Araújo is a Brazilian filmmaker, screenwriter, writer, and researcher, recognized as one of the pioneers of Black cinema in Brazil. His cinematographic work addresses racial and social issues. Additionally, he published the book A Negação do Brasil (The Negation of Brazil), which analyzes the representation of Black people in Brazilian soap operas.
