João Amorim is a filmmaker, producer, and animator with a 30-year career, and the founder of Amorim Filmes.

He directed the films 2012 – Tempo de Mudança (Time for Change), Utopia Tropical, Bela Raízes, and Thiago & Ísis e os Biomas do Brasil (Thiago & Ísis and the Brazilian Biomes), in addition to the series Manual de Sobrevivência para o Século XXI (Survival Guide for the 21st Century) and Thiago & Ísis e os Segredos do Brasil (Thiago & Ísis and the Secrets of Brazil).

He was a professor at NYU and Parsons, was nominated for an Emmy for Chicago 10, and works on socio-environmental, children's, and international co-production projects.
