Maria Dora Mourão is a retired professor emeritus from the Film, Radio, and TV Department at ECA-USP, where she worked for 50 years.

She was the President and founder of FORCINE (the Brazilian Forum of Film and Audiovisual Education) and SOCINE (the Brazilian Society of Film and Audiovisual Studies).

She was also the President of CILECT (The International Film and Television School Association).

She is currently the General Director of the Sociedade Amigos da Cinemateca (Friends of the Cinemateca Society), which manages the Brazilian Cinematheque.
