Dani Balbi is the first transgender professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She holds a Ph.D. in Literary Science, and is a Professor of Communication and Brazilian Reality at the School of Communication (Eco/Ufrj), as well as a screenwriter. She is from Engenho Da Rainha, a neighborhood in the North Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
