Carlos Vicente is a forestry engineer by training, he currently serves as the National Coordinator for the UN-UNEP Inter-religious Initiative for Tropical Forests (IRI-Brazil). At IRI, he promotes and develops strategies for dialogue and engagement with religious communities of all traditions regarding the climate emergency, the restoration and preservation of tropical forests (with an emphasis on the Amazon), and the defense of the rights of indigenous, quilombola, and traditional peoples.
