Creative Cities: Audiovisual Media, Tourism, and Territorial Development
RioSeminars
How can audiovisual media transform and connect territories? The panel discusses the sector's role in territorial development and enhancement, bringing together examples of cooperation between public institutions, the strengthening of local ecosystems, and the transformation of memory and heritage into new audiovisual narratives. RioFilme and Bahia Filmes serve as examples of coordination between public institutions to strengthen audiovisual policies and foster the exchange of experiences across territories.
The discussion will also feature MultiRio and the General Archive of the City of Rio de Janeiro, drawing on the experience of *Rio Arquivo Vivo*—a series produced by MultiRio that uses documents and collections from the City Archive as a starting point to explore aspects of Rio de Janeiro’s history, culture, and urban transformations through an entertaining format. On one hand, the focus is on building policies and partnerships that strengthen the audiovisual sector within these territories; on the other, it is on using the memory and identity of these territories as raw material for new audiovisual productions.
