RioSeminars

The Rio Film Commission—a department of RioFilme, a public company linked to the Rio City Hall’s Municipal Secretariat of Culture—implements public policies to encourage filming in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It does so by providing support and facilitation, and by undertaking initiatives to attract audiovisual productions to the city.

Its primary focus is providing specialized services to the audiovisual industry, with the central goal of boosting the city’s status as an audiovisual hub and a destination for productions, whether local or international.

Learn about the work of the Rio Film Commission, the RioFilme department responsible for facilitating, guiding, and authorizing filming in Rio de Janeiro, while promoting the city as a strategic destination for domestic and international audiovisual productions.

The panel will present the authorization process, coordination with partner public agencies, and the operational challenges involved in making filming possible across different areas of the city. The discussion will also address the importance of integration among RioFilme, CET-Rio, SMAC, the audiovisual sector, and other stakeholders in the production chain, highlighting how collaborative efforts help make Rio an increasingly film-friendly city.

Meeting between the Rio Film Commission team, location managers, and APLOC (Association of Location Managers).

Moderator: Daniel Celli
