Yuri Costa
Yuri Costa was born in Nilópolis, Baixada Fluminense. As a filmmaker, he directed the horror short films "E SEU CORPO É BELO" (2024), EGUM (2020), and ELEGUÁ (2018), accumulating selections in showcases such as the Rio Film Festival, Brasília Film Festival, Grande Otelo Brazilian Film Award, ShortsMexico, and FicValdivia, as well as over 20 awards, including the Barroco Trophy for Best Short Film by the Official Jury at the Tiradentes Film Festival. He collaborated on the Globoplay series Perfect Days (Dias Perfeitos, 2025). A member of APAN (Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals), he holds a master's degree in Communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), focusing his research on Afrosurrealism.
