Jorge Polo

Jorge Polo is a film director, editor, and screenwriter. He holds a degree in Film and Audiovisual Studies from UFF, a master’s degree in Arts from PPGArtes-UERJ, and is a PhD candidate in Visual Arts at PPGAV-UFRJ, developing practical and theoretical research on landscape, memory, and horror. The Bone Sing (Canto dos Ossos, 2020), his debut feature film as director, received the Best Film Award in the Aurora Section at the Tiradentes Film Festival (2020). He has directed eight short films, including Antes da Encanteria (2016) and Estrela Brava (2025), which were nominated for the Grande Otelo Brazilian Film Award, as well as ten music videos.
